Speaker 1:

Welcome to the Rochelle Christiane podcast. I'm Rochelle, your host. I'm here to help you come back to your body, take charge of your emotions and live life on your terms. This podcast is a space for raw, real conversations about what it means to trust yourself, lean to your power and create a life that feels aligned and alive. We'll explore human design, astrology and other tools to help you understand your unique energy. More importantly, though, we're going to talk about what it means to actually live and embody these aspects. So each week, I'm going to share stories, lessons, guidance to help you navigate life's challenges and really own your magic. So if you're ready to step up, take control and show up as the most authentic version of you, let's begin.

Speaker 1:

Welcome to another episode of the Rochelle Christian podcast. This week, we're going to talk about the water houses in astrology. So I just made a post or a video on TikTok that went crazy with comments and shares and saves and all the things all about the 12th house. Because the 12th house for me was is a huge lesson point, especially with Jupiter currently moving through cancer, which is the ruler of my 12th house. I have had a massive lesson and a massive upgrade in surrender and submission and what that even means and what that looks like. And so so many people commented on this video around what is surrender, how do I surrender, what does this look like? So I made another video on it, but I wanted to come and kind of like pick it apart here and really specifically talk about the water houses in your chart.

Speaker 1:

Before we get into that, I am incredibly excited to announce that Holistic Human Design Academy is getting a massive facelift. It's essentially the same core themes, right, it's just going to look a little bit different. It is pulled out to a six month program, because what I found from a lot of the students who reflected back to me was that while they were in it it was really great, they learned so much. But then there's this piece of you know, after a 12-week program where you're kind of left with well, now what, how do I actually integrate this in my life? How do I keep the enthusiasm that I had while I was in this program? So I feel that a six-month program is more integration and, of course, as we're learning new things and creating new habits and embodying something new, it takes a little bit longer to really make those changes, those neurological shifts creating a new reality, and so this program is called Astro Design School. Again, it's literally Holistic Human Design 2.0.

Speaker 1:

We're going to go through the foundations. We're going to go through the archetypes of the energy, of the planets, human design, gates, channels, all the things we're really going to dive into, transits and how we utilize them, how we can lean into them, chart synthesis, embodiment, integration and then living your design. And so each of these modules is going to be a full month and we're having weekly calls. We're really there's a telegram group, so we're really going to get into like the ins and outs, the nitty gritty sort of everyday stuff, and really really focusing embodiment every single week, or, sorry, one week out of every single month is going to be practices. So we're going to be getting in a call and we're going to be practicing these things. We're going to be talking about these things. We're going to be going through these things, asking questions but really integrating them, and I will be inside the chat nearly every single day asking how you're or what part of your chart or what you're learning, what you've experienced, what you're focusing on in your day to day, because the thing is human design is an experiment, right, and so all of this is an experiment. You are the magic. These tools support you. But I have found in my own life these tools have radically changed my life and so teaching it has been a calling and a passion of mine. So we're really going to explore, embody and evolve within this program. So, if you want to get on the waitlist, it will be officially launched next month I haven't figured out an exact date, but in October will be the actual start date of the program. But if you want to get on the waitlist, there is a link below. So just click that, get on the waitlist and you'll be the very first to know when Astro Design School is officially open for enrollment.

Speaker 1:

But again, I'm super, super excited and let's just dive into the episode, let's get into it, let's talk about it. So we'll start with the fourth house. So, naturally, the fourth house is ruled by Cancer. So as I'm going through this, I'm going to be talking about the houses or the signs that rule each house. That's going to look different for you. So if you're a Leo rising, the fourth house is ruled by Scorpio, but there is always going to be an element, a theme, an archetype of Cancer held within the fourth house because Cancer rules the fourth house. So if you're doing, let's say, moon work, right, if you're working with the moon and let's say you want to really work on your roots, right, you want to work on your subconscious beliefs, your roots, these are kind of housed within the fourth house and so whatever that looks like for you, so when the moon let's just say you have Gemini there when the moon is in Gemini, you're able to do fourth house work, right, it's going to be, it's going to have a Gemini flare, because that is your ruler of the fourth house. So I hope that makes sense.

Speaker 1:

But we're going down to the basics of what the natal or what the astrology, what the zodiac wheel actually looks like. So again, the fourth house is ruled by cancer. So check where cancer is in your chart and check what rules the fourth house for you. Cancer typically it's not always, but typically the fourth house is where your IC is and this is really just your roots, your structure. When you think about the natal wheel, right, you have your 10th house is up on top. This is the outward face and persona. This is what people see. So whatever sign you have there is kind of insignificant to what I'm saying now, but that 10th house is what people see and the fourth house is where you're rooted, you're grounded. This is your ancestors, your inner world, your subconscious. This is like the bottom most part of the chart. This is your home. This is the place that, again, is not visible to the outside world.

Speaker 1:

Some people invite everybody into their home. Maybe they've got a Leo right ruling their fourth house, but oftentimes I have Scorpio in my fourth house, so I'm very protective about who I allow into my home. There is an element of secrecy, of sort of, in my home. I have done a lot of work to get the vibe and the energy inside my home to feel so good to me that I'm very particular about who I let in my home. This is very Scorpio in the fourth house.

Speaker 1:

But whatever you have right Cancer naturally ruling the fourth house, the fourth house, or Cancer, is ruled by the moon, so there's an element of emotional security that we want within this house, right when we move into the next water house, which is going to be the eighth house, which is ruled by Scorpio naturally ruled by Scorpio Again. This might not be what it looks like for you. You might have Capricorn there. You might have Gemini there, you might have Sagittarius there, but the archetype and the themes of the eighth house and Scorpio are linked into this house, your eighth house. I apologize if you can hear the lawnmower, I actually feel like that's my yard. But moving on. So the eighth house, eighth house, is again secrecy. The eighth house is the occult. The eighth house is drug sex, rock and roll. It's ruled by Scorpio. Scorpio is ruled by Mars and Pluto, so it's super deep right.

Speaker 1:

Again, secrecy can be a little bit of manipulation. It's intimacy, it's sex. So where we have the seventh house is relationships. The eighth house morphs into intimacy and relationship. It's be a little bit of manipulation. It's intimacy, it's sex. So where we have the seventh house is relationships. The eighth house morphs into intimacy and relationship. It's also a money house. So this is other people's money, because it's like that partnership, the intimacy and sort of the area.

Speaker 1:

So it can be oh my gosh, what is the word Inheritances? Inheritances, it can be those sorts of things that are housed within this house. So again, looking at what you have. So if you have Capricorn here, capricorn in the eighth house, capricorn is an earth sign, capricorn is hard work, it's perseverance, it's, you know, the mountain goat is climbing up the mountain right, there's always an element of struggle with Capricorn, but it's going to be. If it's in the eighth house, it's having these themes of the occult, it's having these themes of depth and secrecy and like an intimacy and sex Like this has this underlying theme of the eighth house in Scorpio, right In Pluto and in Mars. Then the next water house that we have is Pisces. This is the 12th house. The 12th house is all about your subconscious. And now notice the 4th, 8th and 12th. All of them have themes of the subconscious. All of them have themes of your inner world, because that's what water is.

Speaker 1:

When we think about water, think about how it molds to a cup. You can't see this on the podcast, but if you're watching on YouTube, I have water in a cup here. If I pour this water into another container, it's going to mold to that container. It no longer is going to hold this shape, right? Water is also incredible because we can bless our water. Water holds frequencies. There have been so many experiments and I can't remember his name, dr Something. I can't remember his name, but he did all these experiments with water where he put pictures under the water. He spoke words to the water and then he froze it and you can actually see the frequency and vibration that is being held within the water. It's actually really amazing. I bless my water. I started doing this recently, but I bless my water every single time I drink it, just to like get the vibe in or the frequency in.

Speaker 1:

Because I was listening to Pam Gregory, she was talking about the eclipses, but she was saying that if just 32% of us blessed our water, we would be able to elevate ourselves to unity, consciousness, which is like incredible, which is crazy and beautiful and amazing. So all of these water houses hold this theme of the subconscious, hold this theme of our inner world, our emotions. It's always going to be part of that. So again, even if you don't have these signs ruling these houses, there's going to be a theme to it and then, of course, wherever you have those signs, you're bringing that theme in there as well. So the 12th house is the subconscious. The 12th house is spirit. It's your dream world, it's psychic, it's intuitive, it's escapism, it's addictions, it's mental health. It's also dream world. It's psychic, it's intuitive, it's escapism, it's addictions, it's mental health. It's also imprisonment. So one thing that really, really resonated to me.

Speaker 1:

Having a moon in my 12th house for so much of my life, I felt like I was a prisoner of my emotions. The thing with the 12th house is, whatever you have in the 12th house requires surrender, it requires submission, it requires giving it up to something greater, because we can't see it. And I really like the analogy of the womb when it comes to the 12th house, because when we think about the 12th house, the 12th house is endings, it's death, it's endings, right, the 8th house also rules death with Pluto right, it's alchemization, it's transformation, but the 12th house is endings and death. Pluto right, it's alchemization, it's transformation, but the 12th house is endings and death. And so when we think about that, we think about the womb. The 12th house holds the womb, the child, the creation, the whatever it is inside the womb.

Speaker 1:

And when you look at a, let's just say, a woman that is pregnant, you know the baby's in there. You can't see it, you can't touch it, you can't hear it, right, but you know it's there. Once it gets to that point of gestation where you can feel it, that's a, that's a different thing, but you can't actually see it. Like, yes, we have ultrasounds and things like that. But the baby is there, you know it's there. It's so much a part of you maybe you're the mother that's sitting there at night and it's very well that it's there but you can't touch it. You can't connect with it in the way of like the first house when it comes out right, and now you're holding this newborn baby. You can see it, you can hear it, you can touch it. There's a different sort of connection.

Speaker 1:

So anything that you have in the 12th house is sort of like that baby. It's like you know that it's there, it's so deeply a part of you. You can talk to it, you can sing to it, you can maybe even psychically connect to it, but you can't actually tangibly, physically see it right. It's so deeply ingrained in you, it's so deeply embedded in you and also you can't see it. That's the energy of the 12th house. So a lot of people with their son in the 12th house, they have a really hard time connecting with whatever sign that is, and although it is so deeply a part of them because think about your son, this is your core essence, it's who you are it's sort of like they forget about it, but it's so deeply ingrained in you and so, whatever is there maybe the word imprisonment doesn't really resonate with you, maybe it does A lot of people.

Speaker 1:

I found that really being like a prisoner of that area. But again, this is mental health, this is the subconscious, this is being really psychic, and when we think about intuition and we think about being psychic, we have to surrender. Message or our guides are presented to us. If we're not, like in full surrender and trusting that, there's no way that I can then be like okay, well, that's what they're telling me to do, because I'm not going to trust it. I'm trying to manipulate and control the situation to make it work in my favor or make it work the way that I think it's going to work, but it never looks like that. So we have to like give up that element of control in that area of life.

Speaker 1:

So all of these themes, all of these archetypes hold energy within, you know, like so. So, going back to the fourth house, the fourth house is ruled by cancer and the moon. So if you're trying to understand your fourth house, obviously the sign that's there, look for that and then look for where cancer and the moon is, because they're going to be connected in some way. The eighth house, scorpio, pluto, mars, those are the rulers of the 8th house. Those themes of drug sex, rock and roll, inheritance, intimacy, the occult secrecy, you know, those sorts of themes are in the 8th house. And then that 12th house, right, pisces, neptune, jupiter, jupiter expands on these things. Jupiter is the traditional ruler, neptune is the modern ruler.

Speaker 1:

But all of these themes, so again like, if you're understanding the 12th house, what is the ruler of the 12th house? What is that sign? And then where's Pisces, jupiter and Neptune in your chart to really understand that? So if you are a, let's say, if you are a fire rising, so Aries, leo or Sagittarius, you have all of the elements of the houses in place. And what I mean by that is the first house is ruled by Aries, but if you have Leo, that's still a fire sign, which means the second house is going to be an earth, the third house is going to be air and the fourth house is going to be water, if you have, if those rotate. So if you have an air first house, then your second house is going to be water, your third house is going to be fire, your fourth house is going to be earth and so on and so forth.

Speaker 1:

So when we're working with the houses, when we're working with the signs, um, specifically the moon, because the moon is is your emotional world right, I like to work with the moon. So when I know that the moon is in, like my money houses, right, that's, that's money work that I can be doing, like right now the moon is in Aries. That is my ninth house. This is education, this is philosophy, this is non dogmatic religion, faith, you know, whatever. It is so deep diving into something or teaching something, or you know, sort of like doing the work of that, understanding what that looks like for you laid onto your chart. But it's so helpful to understand the dynamics of those, and this is really something we're diving deeply into Astro Design School. We're going to be going through the archetypes, we're really going to be understanding how this layers onto your chart and it's just going to be so much fun and really I'm excited for this program as we're navigating this week.

Speaker 1:

We have a lot of Mercury transits happening this week and I don't have my little calendar on me because it's as I'm recording this, it's Tuesday and I don't remember specifically which days are what, but we have the sun Mercury Kazemi, which I believe is happening Friday I could be wrong about that, but we're having the sun Mercury Kazemi, which really gives us movement. If it's in a Mercury retrograde, it gives us clarity, but if we're not in a retrograde period, so it's just a Kazemi and so it's really giving us movement around, something that has to do with our mind, the way that we're thinking, what we're focusing on right Mercury. I've been deep diving into Mercury, which I find fascinating, because I think a lot of times we really focus on the outer planets in our chart, not necessarily, but I think sometimes, specifically because we're so focused on transits or we're always like what transits are happening, the outer planets can get a lot of attention. They're generational planets but they're more like subconscious work. But Mercury, like our inner planets, actually hold a lot of depth as well. And Mercury, you know, it's communication, it's the mind, it's, you know, social media or writing or whatever, because Mercury rules Gemini and Virgo. But I think, like as we're navigating Virgo season, I think it's important and helpful to understand the dynamics of Mercury. So let's dive into Mercury real quick, because this week again, we have a lot of Mercury transit, so we have that Sun-Mercury-Kazemi, it's going to be sextile to Jupiter, which is expanding on it. And I feel like there's something else. If you're on the Mastery Monday newsletter you got it.

Speaker 1:

But so Mercury is the child of Zeus and a wood nymph, maya I think was her name. And as soon as Mercury was born basically he was essentially born he climbed out of his crib. He went and stole Apollo's cows. I don't remember what he did with them. He's ingenuitive I don't know if that's the right word Ingenious, I don't remember what he did with them. He was, he's ingenuitive. Ingenuitive I don't know if that's the right word, ingenious, I don't know. He's creative, he's inventive, he, because, because he gets bored easily. So Hermes is the mythological archetype, you know that we correlate with Mercury. So he stole his brother's cows. He then found a tortoise, a tortoise that was passing him along. He killed it, gutted it and created an instrument out of it. So he's creative, he's inventive.

Speaker 1:

Kind of a little bit of the unexpected when we think about like in planet, wise, astrologically wise. Uranus is sort of like his big brother. Right, uranus is the higher mind and Mercury is the mind. So he is a little little, he's a thief, he's a trickster, he's playful, he's social, but he really has depth to him as well. So when Apollo which was his brother, whose cows he stole the day he was born took him to Zeus and was like your son just stole my cows. Mercury was like me I am just born yesterday. How could I steal your cows? I was just born yesterday. How could I steal your cows? I was just born, I'm in my crib, I can barely even walk. And so after a while, obviously, apollo caught him out in the line. He was like all right, I stole your cows, come, I'll bring them to you, I'll show you how to do it.

Speaker 1:

Howard Saspertas I'm not sure if I pronounced his last name correctly in the book the Inner Planets he defines robber and thief. Because it's important as it relates to Mercury, because Mercury isn't a robber which seems like I stole my brother's cows but robber. His definition of robber comes with aggression and violence, whereas thief is sort of just sly and tricky. Right, the thief isn't necessarily going to be out and like hurting people to do something, it's more the sneakiness of it, the slyness of it, which is why the gods then hired Mercury to be their messenger, because he was stealthy, he could get into places, right. And so Mercury was like all right, I'll take you to your cows, give them back. And then Apollo saw the instrument he had created from the tortoise and he was like all right, all is forgiven if you give me that instrument, because that's incredible, that's beautiful, like Mercury, in his boredom, created something that actually wowed the gods.

Speaker 1:

So when we think about that archetype as it's related to Mercury in your chart, it's A somewhere that you might find yourself being restless. Often we can lean into creativity. It is the mind, it is communication. Restless. Often we can lean into creativity. It is the mind, it is communication. One thing that I love about it as well is, in the tarot, mercury rules the magician.

Speaker 1:

When we think about this archetype as it relates to Mercury, mercury, again, is communication, so it's our words. We know through manifestation. If you're here listening to it, chances are you're very familiar with this world. Our words are so powerful. So really being aware of the things that you're saying, the words that are coming out of your mouth, can help then train your thoughts to get on board with whatever. But really being aware of the words that you're saying, this is the magic of Mercury. This can really help in your manifestation. Understanding your Mercury can really help in your manifestation.

Speaker 1:

So, looking into your chart, well, one more point on Mercury which again I think could lend itself really well to working with it for manifestation. So Mercury rules your words. Again, powerful, it creates magic. Your words create magic. Your words create your, your thoughts, your beliefs, create your perspective, your reality. Right, we want to create a new reality. We have to start from the beginning. And also, you can say affirmations all day, you can say the most positive, positive words all day, but if your subconscious isn't aligned it's counterintuitive, you're going to self-sabotage yourself in some way. So we want to recreate our subconscious beliefs, our identity.

Speaker 1:

And so, when we look back to Mercury again, the gods hired Mercury as their messenger. A because it was stealthy, he could get into places, he could talk to who he wanted to. And then B because he was able to transcend the worlds. He was able to go from wanted to. And then B because he was able to transcend the worlds, he was able to go from heaven to earth to the underworld. Right, he went down to the underworld, took Persephone back up to Zeus, and so he can transcend the world. So, when we think about this. This is the superconscious. So this is, you know, the higher consciousness. Earth is our conscious. Earth is conscious, right. Earth is the 3, 3d, it's the mundane, and then we go down to the underworld. This is the subconscious. So mercury can go through all these.

Speaker 1:

When we think about mercury a lot of times we think about like, specifically gemini, it's like playful and it's light, and we're like do you ever take anything seriously? You're always like bouncing back and forth, you're stirring the pot and then you're walking away. The shitsters and all these things like, but there actually is a lot of depth, should they choose to go there. Same with virgo. Virgo can be over analytical. This is the shadow side of it. Virgo can be over analytical. Virgo can worry about things, can be an overthinker. It wants to like, make things, make sense. It's taking the facts and it's analyzing them and all these things. But again, especially with virgo, opposition to Pisces.

Speaker 1:

Virgo understands that it needs spirit to do the work right. And so, as Mercury is a messenger, mercury can channel the gods, mercury can channel higher consciousness, all these things. If it's doing that work, mercury rules the nervous system, and another quote from that book from the inner planets, was that, like, without your nervous system you can't channel the gods, you can't channel higher consciousness, right you can't channel spirit. We have to have a regulated nervous system again to surrender and trust sort of what we're talking about before to listen in here. So again, mercury can lend itself in so many ways in our manifestation journey because it's it rules words, right.

Speaker 1:

So, being really attentive to what we're saying, and it can dive down to the subconscious. We need our subconscious to align with our conscious right To create something new, to create a new reality, to create a new perspective. This happens slowly, over time, but we know it's possible. We know that we can change our neural pathways to believe something new. We can change who we think that we are, we can change our identity, and this is just a piece of it. There's a lot to it, but this is a piece of it.

Speaker 1:

And so, really, leaning into Mercury in your chart, I know I kind of went from the water houses to Mercury. It wasn't my intention, but here we are, we're, we're rolling with it, and so I am kind of obsessed with that, especially as we're going through Virgo season, and Virgo is this time where we are purifying ourselves to then come into Libra season and again, the Kabbalah says Libra season is the sort of season where we get to choose which timeline we're on, because we're doing the work during this Virgo season. So where in your chart is Mercury? What sign is Mercury in? I'm writing a blog on it too that I will have out by thursday when this episode comes out. So if you want to read that blog, head down to the show notes, click the sub stack, you'll be taken there and you'll be able to read the blog. This is really powerful work.

Speaker 1:

So for me, I have, as an example, I have mercury in my 10th house and it is sextile or it's tr to my Mars, which brings so Mercury. For me, mercury in the 10th house is in Taurus. So being restless in areas of career and my outward the way people perceive me right, this is my public persona being restless in that area also makes me creative and intuitive, and, oh my gosh, the word I'm trying to say is not coming to me. Um, there could be a theme of being like that unexpectedness, mercury and torus is very slow. It's slow to grasp things, it's slow to process things. It tends to be slow to communicate things, because the thing, that things that it communicates at its core, wants everything to be right, right. This is a fixed sign of Taurus. It is grounded, it is sensual.

Speaker 1:

People with Mercury in Taurus maybe could be really good singers. I don't consider myself a really good singer. My kids sometimes say I sound okay when I sing, but that's not like a path that I ever desire to. But with it trying Mars, what is Mars? Assertion, aggression, aggression. Mars is quick, it's bold, it's fiery, right, and so I have this energy pushing on my Mercury to express myself in a little bit more bolder or quicker, at a quicker pace. But it really requires coming inside, because I know I can feel it when I'm communicating something with that pressure of Mars that actually hasn't solidified yet. And part of my whole purpose in my human design and everything is to keep things simple. And so I noticed when I fall into that shadow I'm over explaining things because I said something too quickly and now I'm trying to make sense of it and my mind is trying to work too fast and so that's kind of that Mars influence on there. But when I can just sort of like allow that to be a support and remind myself to slow it down, to keep in that slowness that my Mercury and Taurus requires. Then I feel like I'm such a better communicator, I'm such a better listener, like all the things. But again, this is an area where we could be restless, we can get bored, creative, all those things. So, just looking at where Mercury is in your chart and kind of like doing that work right now, of like purifying your mind, understanding the dynamics of it, and again, all of this we're really going to dive so deeply into all this and astro design school, I like can't tell you how excited I am. So if you again, if you want to get on the wait list for that, just head down, click the show notes. That is going to be available. I get again I haven't picked the exact date, but it's going to be October getting everything set up right now and I'm so, so excited. So that is going to be available for you.

Speaker 1:

If you want to join the inner mother collective. So this is your sacred Unraveling meets Inner Mother Collective. We are merging the two because the Inner Mother Collective was created as a very Aquarian sort of membership space and so we are all coming together and we're forming this group of women. You don't have to be a mother to be in here, and I hesitate with women because I don't know that it's specifically women that are invited in. But we are coming together to share our resources and it's just it's also a different way of moving money as well. So that was. That is definitely a piece to a lot of people that is attractive of the membership.

Speaker 1:

So I'm migrating your sacred unraveling to merge with the inner mother collective. Literally nothing about your sacred unraveling is changing. It's all the same. It's going to be monthly moon circles, but on top of that, you're now getting all this extra support. We have a mastermind, a business mastermind, going there where we're looking through the lines of human design and astrology. We have energy healers in there. We're currently moving through the Venus sequence. We have like just sort of like coffee chats, community gatherings, like it's literally phenomenal. So if you want to join us inside of there, just click the link in the show notes the inner mother collective and you will be put in there. There's still that tele. There is still the your Sacred Unraveling Telegram group that is connected with that. But I think that's all the housekeeping and everything you need to know.

Speaker 1:

So thank you so much for being here. Thank you so much for listening to this week's episode. I will talk to you next week and really enjoy this sort of in-between phase that we're having right now in these portal between the eclipses, as, like again this week, with so much mercury going on, this is really again purifying our mind. We're being expanded in our mind, we can really pay attention to our words and the things that we're saying and and all of these sort of themes, and so it's sort of this week where maybe we can like like we're still feeling the intensity of the eclipse but maybe we can just sort of pause and be expanded a little bit. You know, depending on how you're feeling and all the things. But I will talk to you next week. Enjoy this week. Get on the Mastery Monday newsletter.
